Medical / Orthopedic Massage

The use of several types of therapies to restore balance within the muscular system, including postural assessments and testing, trigger point therapy, deep tissue work, myofascial stretching, and other myoskeletal alignment techniques to allow muscles, tendons and ligaments to perform full range of motion, releasing any restricted areas and reducing pain and tension.

Sports Massage

This type of massage works differently with each type of athlete. Competitive power lifters, swimmers, triathletes, runners, cyclists, football players, wrestlers, etc...each have their own specific set of issues. Several techniques are used to help each athlete, whether professional or weekend warrior, achieve muscular balance and control and prevent and/or eliminate overuse injuries or muscle strains.

Deep Tissue Massage

Releases soreness and muscle stiffness by slowly working through muscles into the deeper areas to increase circulation throughout the muscles which will repair stressed and overused tissue and eradicate the pain caused by these muscles.

Pregnancy Massage

It's such a wonderful thing to be pregnant! Sometimes the extra stress, weight and imbalances can cause back pain, swelling, stiffness and fatigue. Through massage, blood flow is increased in the entire body and will allow muscles to relax, stress to decrease and extra fluids to move more easily in the body.

Extreme Relaxation

This one hour massage will leave you feeling like you don't have a care in the world! Many people fall asleep within the first twenty minutes! The work involves long, slow movements to decrease sympathetic nerve activity and incorporate parasympathetic reaction.

Chair Massage

This massage is normally 10-30 minutes long and is done fully clothed on a very comfortable massage chair. It is wonderful for upper body stress and tension at the workplace, and also very popular for community events, wedding parties, festivals and any type of get together!

Session Information

Starting your session: If this is your first massage, it is important that you feel comfortable and at ease. First, you will fill out an intake form that allows me to know your medical history and any problems you are having so that I can better assist you. Next, I will ask you questions about any issues you are experiencing. This helps me to develop a personalized massage treatment just for you! I will leave the room while you get undressed to your comfort level, lie on the table and cover yourself with a soft sheet. You will be underneath a sheet, fully covered except the body part I am working on during the entire massage session.

During your massage: I will use a variety of techniques to best address any and all issues you have. I will ask you periodically if you are experiencing any discomfort or whether you need a different pressure than I am applying to your muscles. You always have the option of complete peace and quiet, listening to the relaxing music that is played during your session, or chatting. Each person makes their own choices as to what makes them most comfortable. At the end of the session, I will leave the room so you can get dressed. I will return with some water and send you on your way. This is a good time to book your next session.

Ensuring your wellness: If you are interested in any information about how to achieve continued wellness, I will be happy to direct you to information or refer you to a physician or physical therapist if necessary. My goal is your optimal health!
